Chris Sligh is a songwriter, artist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and Grammy and Dove Award-nominee. Hailing from from Springfield, Tennessee, Sligh was a Top 10 American Idol finalist in 2007 and parlayed that success into a thriving artist career with a string of Billboard hits including "Empty Me," which was a 2010 Dove Award-nominee for "Song of the Year" and a BMI Christian "Song of the Year" Award recipient. In 2009, Sligh rang the bell for the first time with Rascal Flatts' #1 hit "Here Comes Goodbye," a song that garnered them a Grammy award nomination for "Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals" in 2010.
After American Idol, Sligh worked with some of the largest churches combining his passions for music and ministry, and in 2019, began writing with California country artist, Nate Smith. Since then, Sligh has had 78 cuts, including several high-profile cuts with Smith, Bailey Zimmerman, and Josh Ross.
Sligh inked a publishing deal with Porchlight Music in 2023. “I have been in and out and around the music business for a long time. As I met with companies, I was drawn to Porchlight Music because of the oversized success of their small roster, their plans for the future, and the respect I had for the character of Tim Medlin and the other leaders in the company.” Sligh reflects,“There are no better people in this business and I'm lucky to be in cahoots with Tim, Jenny, Dale, and the whole team. Excited for where we're about to go!”
Tim Medlin, Partner, Porchlight Music adds, "Chris is a guy that has had success as an artist coming off the heels of American Idol to having major success as a songwriter and track guy. But in addition to that, he’s someone that we all love being around. He will be a great addition to our offense."
Sligh resides in Nashville with his wife of 20 years, Sarah, and his two children, Keira (12) and McCartney (10)
